Frequently Asked Questions about your RV Insurance Quote

RV INSURANCE SITE FUNCTIONALITY

Basic Information regarding Site Functionality

The section is broken up into sub categories that contain information that would directly pertain to obtaining an RV or Travel Trailer insurance quote as well as the saving and retrieval of your quotes. Some of the information we request will include contact information (name, address, phone number) and unit information (recreational vehicle (RV) or travel trailer year, make, model).

Eligibility for Motorhome Insurance

This section reviews specific information to determine product packages, availability and risk factors. As a customer, you will find some general underwriting questions that will help find the best suited motorhome insurance policy for you.

Motor Home and Fifth Wheel Coverage

This section includes information related to coverage for your motor home, travel trailer or recreational vehicle (RV). A customer can select insurance coverage ranging from liability only to a more complete package protecting your investment based on your needs. The Discount section provides an opportunity to obtain a lower rate depending on a customer’s vehicle safety equipment, memberships in associations, and garaging practices. (Note not all companies offer all discounts). Lastly, the Other Information tab is merely additional information requested to better obtain a correct motorhome insurance quote for each customer.

Vehicle Additions

This is a great opportunity for savings. This section allows you to add your auto, truck, SUV, etc. to your RV Insurance policy quote application and obtain a lower rate for combining vehicles. Many times you will find this a lower cost alternative to having all your vehicles on separate policies with different companies, plus this option gives you a one-stop shopping experience. (Available on selected carriers only.)

Where to Send your Motorhome Insurance Quote?

RV and Motorhome Insurance Quotes can be sent to you via email and/or via phone call. As a customer you have the opportunity to select a time to speak with us that is best for you. Any additional comments you feel would assist in the quote can be added in the Memo section.

RV, MOTOR HOME AND FIFTH WHEEL INSURANCE COVERAGE

RV Insurance Professionals provide Specialized Recreational Vehicle (RV) insurance coverage from major A+ rated RV Specialty Insurers. Below are links explaining different insurance coverage available for your Recreational Vehicle, Travel Trailer, Fifth Wheel, Motor Home, Tow Vehicle, or Companion Vehicle.

BODILY INJURY

Recreational Vehicle (RV) bodily injury liability insurance covers your legal liability for the injury or death that you, or any permitted user, may cause with your RV. The first bodily injury insurance dollar amount displayed (e.g. $100,000 of $100,000 / $200,000) is the maximum amount the insurer will pay per injured person. The second bodily injury dollar amount is the maximum amount the insurer will pay overall for one accident, regardless of the number of people injured.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

Recreational Vehicle (RV) property damage insurance covers your liability for damage to property of others that you, or any permitted user, cause with your RV. The property damage coverage dollar amount shown in your coverage declaration page is the maximum amount the insurer will pay for all property damage to others that you cause in any one accident.

MEDICAL PAYMENTS

Motor Home medical coverage covers medical or funeral expenses for anyone injured by a covered loss while in your RV. Motorhome insurance with medical coverage also covers you and your family members as a passenger in another automobile or as a pedestrian if struck by an automobile. The dollar amount of this Travel Trailer insurance option with medical coverage chosen is the amount your insurer will pay per person injured or killed. Carriers generally cover only the named insured person(s) on the policy.

UN- / UNDER-INSURED MOTORISTS

Travel Trailer uninsured motorist insurance coverage covers damages that you or anyone else in your RV are legally entitled to because of a vehicle accident when the person responsible for those injuries does not have liability insurance or adequate insurance limits.

The first dollar amount shown on your Recreational Vehicle (RV) uninsured / under-insured motorist insurance coverage is the maximum amount your insurer will pay per injured person. The second dollar amount shown is the maximum amount your insurer will pay for any one accident, regardless of the number of people injured.

OTHER THAN COLLISION

Also known as comprehensive coverage, the Recreational Vehicle (RV) OTC deductible is the amount of deductible applied to your Other Than Collision Coverage. RV and Fifth Wheel OTC insurance coverage protects the vehicles listed on your policy for damage caused by losses other than collision. Examples of RV OTC coverage include fire, theft, wind and crashes with an animal or inanimate objects. RV OTC coverage is not automatically added to your insurance policy.

COLLISION

Your Recreational Vehicle (RV) collision insurance deductible is the amount of your claim that you pay after an accident. The insurance company pays the rest. Motor Home Collision Deductible Options, therefore, are the amount of deductible applied to your collision insurance coverage. RV collision insurance deductible helps pay for the damage caused when your RV collides with another vehicle or object.

TOWING AND LABOR

This provides coverage for towing and labor for any single occurrence up to the amount chosen. For your Recreational Vehicle (RV) you can also buy Reasonable Expense Coverage insurance which has no dollar limit, but rather pays whatever the going rate for reasonable and necessary expense for the area in which the service is provided. Some plans provide a toll free number to call; others provide a reimbursement plan only.

REPLACEMENT COST – PERSONAL EFFECTS

This optional insurance coverage covers your personal property inside your Motorhome. Should covered items be damaged, destroyed or stolen, they will be repaired or replaced with a new item of like kind and quality (new or old). Certain items such as antiques, art and jewelry have a limitation of coverage.

VACATION LIABILITY

This optional coverage covers your legal liability for a covered loss resulting in injury, death or property damage that occurs in your Recreational Vehicle (RV) or on your campsite. You are provided $10,000 of coverage with OTC and Collision, but you can buy additional insurance coverage.

FULL-TIMER

This coverage is much like the Personal Liability Coverage provided by a homeowner’s policy. It covers much more than Vacation Liability Insurance and is designed for people who use their Recreational Vehicle (RV) six or more months out of the year.
